Crossed

Crossed (Matched Trilogy, Book 2) by Ally Condie

So, apparently I read this book… when did that happen? 🤔🤷‍♂️

I remember reading the first book, Matched, and I remember enjoying it, but I don’t remember anything about it. Characters, plot, I got nothing. I only remember that it was good in the sense that it kept me entertained. It just wasn’t very memorable, literally.

But Crossed took it to a whole new level because not only do I not remember anything about it, I don’t even remember the physical act of reading it. The only reason I know I did is because when I decided I was going to continue the trilogy, the apps I used to keep track of the books I have and the books I’ve read all indicated that I’ve already read it.

So the question here is, how can I write a review for a book I’ve never read or have no recollection of reading? Well, the fact that I don’t remember anything about it is a good indication of how extraordinarily average it is.

I’m currently reading the third book, Reached, right now just out of principle to finish the trilogy. And yes, it’s written in the ink of mediocrity, on stereotypical paper, with the pen of unoriginality.

This might really be the most forgettable series ever.
