Wolf Bride (Lust in the Tudor Court, Book 1) by Elizabeth Moss
Definitely one of the best erotica novels I’ve read (and yes, I’ve read several). ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Before you roll your eyes at the idea of this just being smut set in the Tudor period, it's actually extremely well written. Notably, the best aspects of the book are actually the story and character development. Wolf's navigation of the Tudor court has just the right amount of political intrigue to keep you interested in how it will all play out, and there is no insta-love here either. Rather, Eloise and Wolf completely distrust each other in the beginning, and their growing relationship is very well paced over the course of the book 👩❤️👨. It's surprisingly refreshing to read an erotica novel that actually has a thorough plot and well-developed characters. You could honestly remove the erotica from this book, and it would still be a pretty decent read. But the reason why I wouldn't is because it's a vital aspect of the character development, as each scene shows just how much Eloise and Wolf have grown towards each other.
This is where I feel it necessary to mention, and warn, that the “Fifty Shades of Tudor Sex” label is just marketing. If you're going into this hoping for some kinky bondage or BDSM, then you're going to be disappointed. Instead, Wolf Bride uses more sensual love scenes to show the main characters' growing love and passion for each other ❤️.
But that's not to downplay the fact that these love scenes are absolutely salacious with bodice-ripping hotness 🔥. The chemistry between Eloise and Wolf is electric and sizzling. The slow-burning romance between them is filled with tension and longing, keeping you hooked and wanting more, and making their eventual union all the more satisfying.
